Endodontic Capillary Tips

March 14, 2018

Seeing an emergency during a busy day can really be cumbersome and screw up your otherwise perfect schedule. It’s important to get the patient out of pain as quickly and comfortably as possible. These endodontic capillary tips really help!

I get oddly excited when I’m endodontically accessing a tooth and a volcano of pus and blood pours out due to pressure and swelling. I use these capillary tips to get the situation under control quickly and efficiently. I will take the tip, fasten the Luer Vacuum Adapter (also by Ultradent), which is attached to the high-speed evacuation, and place it into the canal. The negative pressure will immediately remove large amounts of exudate from the canal system, allowing for relief. What used to take 15 minutes will now take under two minutes.

After placing calcium hydroxide, bring the patient back when the infection is under control in approximately 2-3 weeks. This will allow for a better patient experience and make you, the dentist, look like a rock star.
