Most software programs have the ability to run a report of unscheduled treatment plans and produce a full list of patients who still need treatment. After reviewing the data -- and after you pick yourself up off the floor -- start thinking about the many ways your team can begin scheduling these procedures. You could have them call, email or text each patient… OK, pick yourself back up off the floor again; there is an easier way.
My office chose a program called Guru Connect. It is a software-based program that will work with Dentrix Open Dental to pull all contact information from patients who have an active treatment plan. The unscheduled patient will automatically receive follow-up emails containing information and videos about their unscheduled treatment and recommended procedure(s). Guru Connect also reports on who opened your emails. This information tells you who’s reading what, allowing you to measure interest levels. Emails can also be re-sent on intervals, ensuring your patient gets more than one reminder.
This has been a valuable source of new revenue for my office, without the time-consuming task of making multiple unanswered phone calls!
