Dental financing has been around for years, but few companies have made a name for themselves like CareCredit. For more than 30 years, CareCredit has provided financing for dental treatments and procedures.
In my office, patients call and ask by name if they can use CareCredit. We do not get calls about any other financing companies. So how do they do it? CareCredit has established itself in healthcare as “the resource” to pay for out-of-pocket expenses. This is marketing genius!
When presenting treatment costs, our coordinator presents the total investment to patients, then pauses, and says, "We accept cash, credit cards and check." But now we also include CareCredit for every patient who has a co-pay of more than $200. The more you can get the money issue out of the way, the more patients you will see. We see financing as a cost of doing business so we can schedule more patients -- thus helping more patients get the treatment they need.
Approvals can be done online, over the phone or in person. It’s quick and easy, making the treatment coordinator’s job even easier! And in reality, if patients don’t get approved, which is rare, would you personally want to extend them credit?
