Once you master proper adhesive protocols, the next step is to place the restoration so it mimics proper anatomic form. The OptraSculpt and OptraSculpt Pad are truly amazing instruments that allow the clinician to be in control of the composite and create anatomical harmony with relative ease.
The OptraSculpt Pad offers a nonstick foam pad, allowing simple placement of class III, IV and V restorations so the composite does not pull away as you place it. The soft yet dense foam pad minimizes bubbles in composite and leaves a smooth finish so restorations are seamless. This soft attachment also works well to hold veneers in place with curing adhesive resin cements.
The OptraSculpt utilizes a similar foam technology, allowing easy sculpting of Class I, II, III and V restorations. This dual-ended instrument can accommodate two tip shapes at any one time, so restorations can be placed with proper anatomical form from the start, minimizing postcuring adjustments. There is a big difference between white fillings and properly contoured tooth-colored restorations. The OptraSculpt system allows the latter to be placed with predictability and efficiency.
