Over the past year, there’s been talk about a new “sheriff” in town in the form of new CBCT from J. Morita.
As a general practitioner, I would love a CBCT, but I have no room in my small office. I’ve received a variety of images from many of the common brands on the market, and I have found some to be better than others. But for the most part, they all provide a similar image quality and allow me to carry out treatment appropriately.
This all changed when I started receiving images over the past year from my endodontist, who had purchased a J. Morita 3D F40. The images were sharp, crisp and very detailed. I have never seen a nicer image from another CBCT.
What’s so special about this machine? First, while utilizing a low radiation dose, the F40 provides such clarity that you can see the periodontal ligaments and surrounding alveolar bone with amazing sharpness. Not only is it valuable to endodontics, but also implant surgery and orthodontic cases are easier to diagnose and treat. I referred a patient to my oral surgeon regarding tooth pain that was hard to diagnose. They have a competitive CBCT, and when I asked for an image, they recommended referring the patient to an office that has a J. Morita CBCT because their images have better definition. That’s a great testimonial in itself! J. Morita is known for quality products, and the F40 is no exception.
The F40 provides easy positioning tools, two fields of view and the ability to create a panoramic view as well. For orthodontics, there is also the F40 pan/ceph version with the same high-quality images. I recommend looking at these images before purchasing a CBCT.
