Just when you thought you were almost done with a procedure you tried fixing one last thing and BOOM…you messed everything up.
Access has three different parts: penetration, enlargement and refinement. The goal of a perfect access is to have straight line access and visibility to the radicular pulp tissue. This means you should be able to look straight down into your access and see the orifices.
In part one of this review, I discussed how to penetrate and enlarge the endodontic access with the diamond access bur. Now, it’s time to refine that prep with the Pulp Shaper bur.
This bur delivers diverging walls as you go coronally by providing taper to the prep with its ingenious design. Because the bur is NON-end cutting, it can be used safely and quickly to refine the prep and remove unsupported tooth structure in an instant.
